Rekotex

Our first Mayed collection we sourced our fabric from Rekotex in Broås, Sweden. Rekotex has emerged as a pioneering cooperative model designed to streamline the buying and selling of surplus fabrics within the textile industry. The platform offers brands and designers access to high-quality textiles in quantities far smaller than traditional fabric suppliers typically provide. Because the materials are already produced and stored in manufacturers’ warehouses, buyers benefit from significantly shorter lead times—an advantage that has made Rekotex an appealing resource for both established labels and emerging designers.

For manufacturers and brands with excess materials, Rekotex offers a sustainable alternative to letting unused fabrics go to waste. By selling their surplus through the platform, companies can not only recover value but also contribute to a more responsible textile ecosystem. These materials become part of Rekotex’s curated Re-source collection, made available to other brands seeking innovative, lower-impact solutions.

Through this cooperative approach, Rekotex and its partners are building more efficient circular flows—ensuring that textile resources are used productively, thoughtfully, and with long-term sustainability in mind.
